BR beatz was founded in 2001 by Brandon Reid. Brandon is an electronic musician and producer based in Central Ohio. He is responsible for all of the music, production work, website design, graphics, and business aspects that go into the BR beatz label. He is currently known by the pseudonym Carbon for all new releases. In the late 90s and early 2000s, the local Ohio rave scene started to gain momentum. This explosion of electronic music culture had a major influence on the artist as he spun at parties and clubs as well as hosting several events with friends and associates. In 2001, BR beatz was officially founded and brbeatz.com first went online.

Between 2001 and 2003, Brandon R. Reid released several underground albums and DJ mixes. Around 2003, Brandon started going by the DJ name, Carbon 2501. Carbon 2501 was eventually shortened to Carbon, and internet releases came out that demonstrated a further increase in skill, style, and song structure. In 2009, Carbon released a new full album entitled, "Element Zero." Carbon spent 5 years creating a work that defined his unique blend of original music. This album was a major move forward for the BR beatz label. It has been mass-produced on CD and is also available in digital format from all the leading sources. This album is sure to change the scene of electronic music for the better. Every track offers something amazing that is destined to leave audiences wanting more. Professional-grade equipment and years of experience all lent to this being the best BR beatz album yet! New music is currently in the works and BR beatz continues to expand its scope of audio production services.
